Observation Balloons
Observation balloons weren't exactly considered "new", they had been put to use as early as the 18th and 19th centuries, but the had still been new to the World War, and was used frequently by everyone. They were considered ideal in trench warfare conditions. These observation balloons are balloons that were sent up into the air to scout. The purpose of these balloons is that once they are sent into the air they scout the battle field and see what the enemy was doing, or the weapons they had. These balloons didn't improve lives because once they were shot down, they fell from the sky on fire and burned up things on the ground. But sometimes these balloons didn't get shot down and survived, and got information on the enemy for whoever was using them. The impacts for these balloons is that they were huge and they covered a lot of space in the air, and there were a lot of them in the air at this time. The negative impacts are that whenever the airplanes flied in the air they had to be careful of where they were flying.
